Maloney brings her “utterly gorgeous, visceral” (New York Times) voice to these songs which features two originals and four covers including the classic "Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas" and the Dar Williams fan-favorite "The Christians and The Pagans." Maloney writes, "This is a bittersweet holiday album through and through. I love happy holiday music just as much as somber holiday music, but this year I wanted to hear holiday songs that contain and even celebrate both emotions. My producer, Ryan Hommel and I decided to make what we wanted to hear in our first-ever remotely recorded album." Christmas Anyway features an all-star cast of players including Griffin Goldsmith from Dawes, Liz Longley, and Jaron Olevsky from Amos Lee's band.
